Hello,
I use xnview mainly for image viewing, usually 1 picture only (double click - full screen view - esc to close)
For pictures on the windows network (UNC paths), it takes up to 1 minute for the picture to come up and display.
It's not the network itself, copying the file to the local drive happens instantly.
There's a lot of computers on our windows network (ca. 100) maybe that's a reason.
Is there a way to speed things up?
I already tried sorting alphabetically in the browser, that made opening faster for pictures on the local drive.
Cheers,
Rainy

Re: Slow on UNC network path
The problem is when you open an UNC path, XnView open the path in the folder treeview, and enumeration of network is really slow
Do you have tried the 1.98.4, i have removed the refresh of folder view...

Re: Slow on UNC network path
Hello Pierre,
installation of 1.98.4 did it, it starts up super fast now, the delay comes only when opening the network tree icon, but this is expected.
Great! Thanks for your help.
