Sample of diff. images for user-training

Post by Peter2 »

I would like to know if there is a package of different image and video files

- which can be downloaded,
- shows many examples of different formats and sub-versions (e.g. different compression in TIF ..) and
- can be used free for common user-training.

Some ideas?

Thanks and regards

Peter, what “audience” are you aiming for?
  • Game developers
  • Medical record technicians
  • Museums & archives
  • Pr0n enthusiasts
  • Professional & amateur photographers
  • Service bureaus
  • Web designers
Which kind of format is still missing?

Hmmmh - no, onlyfor people who want to visit a training "XnView for Beginners". So this is why I'm searching a mixed sample to give a simple feeling of the variety of the theme and of the software. But I do not plan to discuss the detailed difference between these field of profession(al)s.

Thanks for linking samples XnTriq. I have thought about suggesting a forum section to collect various images.

The simplest way to "find" such images is to make them yourself. Get a photo & save it as multiple JPGs, with different settings each time, then save it as multiple TIFFs with different settings, etc, etc.
You won't be able to get all variations this way (xnview can't create all options on all files, such as alpha transparency or gamma chunks), but you can get quite a few this way, and then only have to search for a handful of specific ones.
