Batch Conversion, individual subfolders under source

Post by grafical »

I may be missing how to do this, but I've explored the app and related posts and can't find out how. When doing batch conversions across many folders, it would be very helpful if the converted output were placed in a subdirectory under each source directory... for example:

ROOT\
\images of dogs\
\images of cats\
\images of birds\

Let's say each of the folders contains BMP files.
We select the ROOT folder and select "Show All Files (recursive)".
We highlight all the BMPs, right-click, and select "Batch Processing..."
We select JPG as the output, and xnView creates this:

ROOT\
\images of dogs\JPG\
\images of cats\JPG\
\images of birds\JPG\

The original BMPs stay in the main folders. Each main folder gets *its own* subfolder containing the converted output from its source folder. This functionality seems to already be partly in the program, but it doesn't create individual subfolders, it just saves one folder in the xnView program directory that all the files are dumped into.

LOL, no sooner do I post it then I look at my 20th google search and I find:

$\JPG

for the output directory.. never mind! Sorry! :)

Is there a location with additional switches like that one? That would be bookmark-worthy for me.
