Suggestion Windows Desktop Search Service

We have a *lot* of photos. >30Gb of them.

Instead of trying to sort them into folders in such a way to collect them in some meaningfull way, we've decided to start applying tags.

xnView supports searching by tags, which is good.

Trouble is, it takes forever to get a result. MS Windows already has a search index provided by it's Desktop Search service. Would it not be possible to
use that as well? Doing a search in xnView would then allow the same keywords as Windows 7's search box, but instead of providing the results in Explorer it would be in xnView as a slideshow or batch edit.
