Batch Move

Post by MatthiasG »

Hi,

it would be of help if the batch rename feature would offer a possiblity to move pictures to subfolder. I tried to add a \ to the template, bute that gives only - in the filename.

It would be helpful to organize picture (from scattered sources) into structured folders.

Example:

Sources:

Code: Select all

C:\temp\a.jpg (from 2011)
C:\temp\b.jpg (from 2012)
C:\other\c.jpg (from 2011)
Define a Template

Code: Select all

C:\out\<PictureDate>\<Name>.<Extension>
Result after move

Code: Select all

C:\out\2011\a.jpg
C:\out\2011\c.jpg
C:\out\2012\c.jpg
that would really help to organize large sets of images.

Also applies to XnViewMP.

Regards,
Matthias

Your suggestion seems to apply to the transform dialog. To save the results in a folder which depends on the transform options.
I would like to ahve an option to move thwe files based on their metadata.

May this can be implemented in the same dialog, but I leave this question to the developers.

Matthias
