Hi,
I am using XnView MP Beta 0.39 on Mac OS X 10.7. It seems to be already a very usable release. I however faced a unpleasant issue. I first marked many images with categories. Then I noticed a strange thumbnail display (depending on the category, I had twice the same image, but with different dates... when only one file was present on the disc). This was not a big issue and I simply tried to clean up the cache for force XnView to rebuild thumbnails. I used the following path from the menu in french: Outils - Options - BD de Cache - Vignettes - bouton "Effacer tout". (In English, I guess this should be something like Tools - Options - DB Cache - Thumbnails - Erase all). The issue is that after this operation, I also lost all the categories I set previously to my pictures.
Generally, when a cache is cleaned up, this shouldn't lead to any data loss. Simply things must be rebuilt. But this time, it seems I really lost these categories (and will need hours to redefine them). So from my point of view, this is a bug.
If this is not a bug and was the expected behaviour, then a big warning message is mandatory before executing such actions.
Best regards.
