0.49: No instantly shown icon when categories get assigned

Post by vommie »

Hi

In previous versions thumbnails got instantly that little orange bookmark icon after a category was set. In 0.49 it's needed to deselect the file before it's getting displayed. Other meta informations like labels or ratings are not affected and get their icons instantly.

Over the info pane.

Per context menu and the toolbar button the icon appears instantly, I did not checked that before. So I only have the problem by using the info pane categories (in 0.39 it works, 0.49 not).

There are other issues with assigning categories, I don't know if this has to do with the one of this thread.

I tried around a very lot to give you a good bug report, but it seems for me assigning categories issues appear quite randomly. This are some cases I think I recognize a pattern:

1. If you copy a file to a directory opened in MP or if you open up a folder with the MP browser, select a file and assign categories (info pane) and right after them a rating, the categories don't get assigned. On the other way, first rate and then assign categories, it works mostly (after deselecting the file).

2. If you select a file, assign categories, and then close XnView without deselect the file before, the assigned categories get lost.

3. Furtherwards it happens sometimes I select a file, assign categories (and no rating) and the categories don't get assigned even after deselecting the file.

I just often have to assign categories a several times before they get stored to the database...

Please ask if you need more informations. The category/info pane is very important to me.

Btw: MP 0.51 is in use.
