Better tag support

Post by jamiejonesjj »

I am frustrated enough to create an account to post this. I just combed through 2000 pictures and tagged the few I wanted to keep. My first complaint is that there's no way to tag an image while you're looking at in in the viewer, I have to switch back to the browser, scroll to find what image I was on (by filename), tag it, then go back to the viewer. Pressing "t" seems so much more reasonable.

Next, I'm used to Nikon View's method of having the viewer in a separate window, so I instinctively just closed the window when I was done. I actually closed XnView. Started it back up, all my tags are gone. XnView doesn't save tags. I can see why you might decide to do that, but where's the confirmation box? No, "Hey, you're about to throw away 3 hours of tagging photos, are you sure you want to exit?" Nothing. Poof, gone.

In the browser, use F11 and you'll be able to tag the files

Thanks! All that really helped. I think the tag clearing should default to Never, but I'm happy that the options is at least there.
