i am openSUSE 12.2 user, and wish there was a rpm file for openSUSE, it will makes easy to use for openSUSE newcomers.

No, in openSuSe 12.2 rpm for xnconvert don't work correctly:
- no item in openSuSe menu after install;
- does not start in terminal with user privileges and reports: "Absolute path to 'xnconvert' is '/usr/sbin/xnconvert', so running it may require superuser privileges (eg. root)."
- starts as root in a terminal. But why should I convert images as root?
In Yast Software Manager I can read the comment to the package: "(Converted from a deb package by alien version 8.79ubuntu0.1.)"
Please, correct the rpm package, so it can be installed and used in OpenSuSe 12.2
