Deleted files cannot be restored from Trash

Post by orbspider »

I discovered that after deleting a file with XnviewMP i can't restore it from trash.

i get an error message with Thunar:
  • Could not restore "xxxxxxxx.JPG"
Failed to determine the original path for "xxxxxxxx.JPG".
I get no action at all with Pcmanfm

And with Xfe:
  • Restore information not available for ....

I can confirm this. Same in Gnome 3. Don't know what about you but in my case the file is renamed by the XnView MP when deleted (Example: DSC05171.JPG --> DSC05171_130413-101116.JPG) so system cannot determine former location. For the time beeing it can be restored manually in terminal:

Code: Select all

cp trash:///file.JPG /some_path/file.JPG
Version 0.92 x64 (Sep 29 2018) - un*x

Ah that is true. the file is renamed.

I see numbers like _130414-184528 infixed before .JPG i.e the date of deletion.

True also, it is possible to copy files out of Trash and paste back into their original folder.
