How do I convert CorelDraw CDR Images to Jpeg Images?

I got a dvd of CorelDraw CDR images. I want to convert the whole disc one time to jpeg, instead of doing it one by one. Is there any software i can use it to convert the entire disc's pictures to jpeg format?

XnView can read the embedded preview of the image, only, and not the CDR vector image itself. So you cannot convert CDR files to JPG using XnView. And I doubt that there is other software other than Corel Draw that can read Corel Draw files, because the Corel Draw format is closed / proprietary.

Corel Draw itself offers a solution, though:
Corel Draw can be programmed using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications). With the help of VBA you can read all files in a folder or drive and convert them to anything you want. That's pretty cool and I have used this for automatically converting hundreds of scanned files into files of various resolution. You have to have some programming background, though. In case you haven't found a solution, yet, you can contact me and I'll see what I can do.

In 2007 the sK1 team reverse-engineered the CDR format. The results and the first working snapshot of CDR importer were presented at Libre Graphics Meeting 2007 conference taking place in May 2007 in Montreal (Canada). Later on the team parsed the structure of other Corel formats with the help of CDR Explorer. Now sK1 has the best importer of CorelDRAW file formats among open source software.

CDR Explorer is a research tool for CorelDraw file formats. It was used to create a CDR import filter for sK1 Editor and UniConvertor. This tool is written on Python and works under Linux, MacOS X and Win32. Preview works for all types of cdr, cdrx, cdt and cmx files.

UniConvertor is a universal vector graphics translator.
It is a command line tool which uses sK1 object model to convert one format to another.

Development of the import/export modules for this program goes through different stages, quality and feature coverage are different among formats.

UniConvetor is used in Inkscape and Scribus projects as external tool for CorelDraw files importing.

SWord is a visual analysis tool for file format importer development. Application uses Gtk+ widgetset and designed to investigate textual, tagged and binary file formats.

As its name suggests, CDR Viewer is a simple application that you can use to view CDR files. This format is specific to vector graphic files used by the popular CorelDraw and cannot be opened with many image programs.

Viewing CDR files is not the sole function of the application, as you have the possibility to export them to other image formats, such as JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF or GIF, which are easily recognized by any picture viewer.

Designed with simplicity in mind, the interface is compact and user-friendly. It only comprises a few buttons that allows you to change the zoom level with your mouse or the slider control, adjust the image to the display and rotate it by 90 degrees.

In addition to viewing and converting CDR files, the application can also be used for resizing CDR image files. Just open the desired Corel Draw file and the program automatically displays its current size, enabling you to change the width and height according to your preferences, without worrying about picture quality loss.

Although it does not provide you with a lot of features, CDR Viewer is designed to solve compatibility issues when opening CDR image format. With the help of this straightforward tool, you don't need to have CorelDraw installed in order to display, convert or resize CDR files.

Unfortunately Corel Draw X5 does not have a batch process feature but if you have the full version installed, you should have the MACRO called "CONVERTER.START" that works exactly like a batch process convert.

The CONVERTER.START is self-explanatory, you can locate or run the CONVERTER.START Macro by opening Corel Draw X5, then click on TOOLS > MACROS > RUN MACRO



Then in the MACROS IN: select FILECONVERTER (FileConverter.GMS) then select CONVERTER.START, then click on RUN button.



You can actually select just the folder where all teh CDR are located and the Macro will automatically search for the files. Then just select the DESTINATION before clicking on the CONVERT button.



I did test this and you can actually convert a CDR file to any of the following file format:
AI, BMP. CDR, CGM, CPT, CMX, DSF, DES, DXF, EPS, GIF, JPG, PCT, PNG, PPF, SVG, SWF, TIF, WPG, WMF
