Possible to scan directly to PDF?
The documents I have scanned using XnView for Windows (version 2.05 Sept 2013, Libformat Version 6.45) all initially scan as a PNG Image. I have discovered that it is then possible to save that PNG image as a PDF, however, it does not have the same clarity as what you would see if the document were initially scanned in PDF format. If it is possible to scan directly to PDF, can someone please tell me how to set this up? Thanks

Two settings you may need to change depending on your workflow:
To display PDF files clearly in XnView, you probably need to increase the DPI setting from the Ghostscript default of 72DPI:
Tools > Options... Read/Write -- Read -- EPS/PS/AI/PDF ; set 300dpi or other suitable value.
To save to PDF in XnView, select the compression type and quality to be used:
Tools > Options... Read/Write -- Write -- PDF ; select suitable values.
