Displaying TIFF files

Post by Ubtree »

I am having problems displaying TIFF files:
  • In the Thumbnails pane, TIFF files are only displayed as icons (and not as thumbnails).
In the Preview pane, TIFF files created in Photoshop are displayed correctly, but TIFF files that were recovered from a corrupted memory card (but which nevertheless are correctly displayed in Photoshop and Bridge) are not displayed at all.
Can you help with this?

Hmm....

I've had a look at this again, and can definitely read the file in Photoshop. The file is extremely large, and was perhaps corrupted during transmission.

I've now tried opening the file in Photoshop, and then saving it unchanged. The re-saved file can be seen by XnView, and behaves perfectly.

I would be happy to try sending a different (but equally large) file, but I feel that given the fact that I can restore the files to normal function by loading them and re-saving them, it probably isn't worth your time investigating this issue further.
