If you let me were to look (is there a log file) I can perhaps figure out what is happening.
XnViewMP 0.61 was rock solid under Mountain Lion, but now periodically crashes in Mavericks (OSX 10.9). It seems to do so randomly, not just through the actions of one operation, although it seems more frequent when selecting an area to crop. No data seems to get lost.
Upgraded to OSX Mavericks, XnView unstable
