0.64 Strange black line appears occasionally

Post by Leon Cheung »

Hi, I'm experiencing v0.64, it's nice and beautiful.

I just found one strange thing that occurs in lastest version, which is, when I zoom in an image when the image width is beyond the width of the Viewer window, a black line occurs when keeping on zooming it in with mousewheel. As shown in the attached image. Thanks for checking.

P.S.: This particularly happened when in fullscreen mode. Afaics.

Hi.

I have the same problem. It is with pictures bigger than the actual view size!

XnView Version: 0.64 x64

System:

Asus Zenbook UX51VZ-DB115H
Windows 8.1 up to date
nVidia GeForce GT 650M

EDIT:

I have deactivatet the checkbox for showing a border around the picture. Now the line is gone!!
But it should be fixed, too. The border should not be drawn when in ZOOM mode or the picture is bigger than the actual view.

Here a screenshot where to disable the border: http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/8459/ehp6.png

A similar thing happens with a selection.

It seams to be caused by the image or selection
extending past the top right corner of the
xnview mp window.

It's easiest to see in fullscreen mode,
but it also happens in view mode,
but there the image has to be zoomed
and panned enough so that it's top right
corner is above the tool, menu,
tab and titlebars and to the right of
the xnview mp windows right edge.

After opening and closing fullscreen mode,
then while in view mode the diagonal border
bug seams to stop, atleast until xnview mp
is restarted.

To reproduce it do the following:
1. Enable the Show pan tool:
tools > settings > view > show pan tool
and enable Border line around picture,
it's 5 settings above the show pan tool
on the same settings tab.

2. open an image
3. enter fullscreen mode (f11)
4. zoom in by pressing the plus (+) key,
a black diagonal line (the border) becomes visible when the image corner
extends past the top right corner
5. now drag around the red-white rectangle in the pan tool (bottom right),
the black diagonal line will jump around, it seams to be drawn at a
couple of different angles.

6. Now to see a similar thing it happen to a selection,
draw a large selection and hold the left mouse button
on the selection near the bottom left corner
7. drag the selection towards the top right corner,
when the selections top right corner extends past
the top right corner of the xnview window, then the
selection gets a diagonal dashed line across it,
and the bottom dashed line disappears.

Sometimes when the diagonal dashed line is shown on the selection,
it's possible to grab the selections bottom left corner resize handle
and drag it to the left edge of the screen, then a diagonal dashed line
from the top left to the bottom right appears, when the left mouse button
is released then the diagonal line returns to being drawn from the
bottom left to the top right corners again.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.66 or later. Could you please try and confirm the bug fix, Leon Cheung?
