Please test this: TIFF uncompressed 1 BPP, batch convert, add watermark with
LZW TIFF 1 BPP, format "As original". Result: uncompressed TIFF 24 BPP.

Operations on grayscale and bi-level images using image editing software often seem to change the bit depth to 24bpp, so it is always worth monitoring that in the status bar!
