Keboard shortcuts not working (MacOS, Ubuntu)?

Post by poardeby »

Dear all, I try to use "Del" key to work for deleting image in XnViewMP 0.64 on MacOSX. Works in file browser (thumbnail view), but not in Viewing mode. Menu option works but not shortcuts. Same or similar in Ubuntu 13. Neither works in Full screen or window. I know Del key is not there on the Mac but <Fn-Bkspace> or whatever I configure in Settings/Interface/Shortcuts won't respond. Swedish language (OK might be the only XnViewMP/MacOS/Swedish user out there :?).

No, other commands as well, like alt-c for copy to folder. It seems to be when more than one tab is open or has been opened. For example works if Browser tab is not open.

Try by assigning none to 'delete_file'

(This is on my MacBook:) As long as I have only one tab open (just the browser or one file in View-mode) the shortcuts work, but if I open more than one file they don't. This applies for alt-C (Copy to folder), alt-M (Move to folder) and D which I assigned to cmd_deleteFile. As soon as I close other tabs the shortcuts work fine again. So the workaround is to have only one tab at a time open. "Fn-Backspace" works as delete even when multiple files are open, when D does not work.
I didn't understand about assigning "none" to cmd_deleteFile, what to do next.
[Edit 2014-04-17:]I finally decided to assign another shortcut to "Copy to folder" I chose Fn-C instead of alt-C and Fn-X for Crop and Fn-D for Delete and these works even with more than one tab open! Haven't tried this on Ubuntu yet but for my Mac this was an acceptable workaround. I finally have reliable shortcuts for these commands again!
