Crash when folder contents change (PSD files)

I've encountered a bug which has been happening to me through several versions of XNView now. At first I thought it was something with my machine but I can reproduce the crash every time I try. Here is the procedure I use to recreate the bug 100% when testing:

Open a folder with several images in it (formats don't seem to matter. I typically work with TGA, TIFF, and JPG)
Leave the folder open with thumbnails showing
Open one of the images from that folder in photoshop, edit the image, add a few layers, etc, and save as PSD into the same folder that is open in XNView.
Go back to XNView. The new PSD file should have appeared in the folder.
Single-click on several images in the folder, one after another, and XNView will crash.

However, do the following:

Open a folder with several images in it (formats don't seem to matter)

Go back to XNView. The new PSD file should have appeared in the folder.
Change to a different folder in XNView, and then return to the previous folder where you saved the new PSD
NOW, single-click on several images in the folder, one after another, and XNView will NOT crash.

I'm using 2.22 Extended Portable (but this has happened to me in 'Standard' also, and has been happening for the last few versions)
Windows 7 x64, 16GB system memory

Since I work with photoshop all day, this bug is causing XNView to crash 10-20 times a day because I often forget to change folders and then change back. I wonder if it may have something to do with thumbnail settings, i.e. "use embedded" etc, but I haven't had time to just sit and try random settings. My thumbnails are set at 200x200, no shadows, no background color, etc.

Not particularly big, no.. It happens with PSDs as small as 2MB and up to ~200MB.
