This is probably too silly to consider seriously, but It's something I can't help but notice.
XnView is one of the applications I install every time I rebuild one of my PCs, which I do fairly frequently. In the install process I remove the check to Create a desktop icon and I remove the icon to Create a Quick Launch icon.
Then the first time I run XnView the very first thing I do is remove the desktop icon that is created by the initial setup. Is there a reason to offer the yes/no choice for the desktop icon during setup if it is going to be installed any way when the program is first used?

Do you get the “welcome screen” when you run XnView for the first time, DudleyK?
