Application crash on Win7/64 after years of use

Post by ssnetinc »

Greetings,
I've been using Xnview for over a year on my Win 7 64-bit machine without issue. Always works like a champ.
I was using today and closed it down. I went to use it later and now it crashes every time I launch.

I rebooted the machine - same thing. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled from a fresh download. BTW, I also have the MP version installed and it still works fine.

Hi,
Did not try those things. However, it might have had something to do with the last folder I had open.

I launched program and instantly clicked on another folder before xniew crashed. That seemed to do the trick as it didn't crash and now opens fine. Perhaps it was a file or something in that previous folder that was causing the error?

Anyway, working now and thanks for the response.

Only 2 .mov files on my hard drive and I don't think I had drilled down enough sub-folders to have accidentally been in the proper folder.

Hi Pierre,

After I switched out of whatever folder I last used everything is working fine.
Do you want me to intentionally go into the folder with the .mov files to see if it causes a crash?

Weird. No crash - actually plays the .mov in the preview pane.
