How to pause and resume timed slideshow

I just found XnView yesterday, so please pardon my ignorance.

When showing a slideshow, in general I like the timed version, at about 3 seconds.
But if someone asks a question, or makes a comment on a slide, I'd like to pause the show, and then resume after the conversation is done.

I know the timed slideshow will respond to the left and right arrow, but I can't find a key that will pause and resume.

Help, please.
