Format of [~~.html] could not be determined. For displaying~

Post by merry widow »

Double-clicking locally-stored .HTML files

I'm getting the following error message when I double-click any locally-stored HTML file:
Format of the file <123456.html> could not be determined.

For displaying of less common formats, the following option is available:

Options>General>[x]Display all image file types.
CNTL+ALT+DEL shows that XNView is running when it shouldn't be!? :bugfixed:
I may be frivolous but I am never trivial.

Could the .html extension somehow have become associated with XnView in Windows, or could the locally-stored .html files somehow have acquired an image file type extension?

Edit:

I see the file extension is .html in the error message you posted, so seemingly a Windows file association issue...
