High CPU usage when viewing imge

After the last update to XnView 2.34 I experience high CPU load when open an image to view.
This goes on up to a minute or more and then slowly subsides.
Oddly the image shows immediately but the CPU continues to run with a high load.
This was not the case with earlier versions.
