I write metadata to IPT/XMP fields normally in german and often in polish with its strange characters like: ą ę Ł
Under option/metadata/IPTC enoding there are 2 options:
- use UTF8 to write IPTC fields: yes
- default IPTC encoding: by default it is set to "locale". What is this setting exactly for and why/when should i use locale, UTF8 or one of the other options?
Default IPTC encoding: UTF8. When/Why should i use it?
