Saving an image via "Save as..." [Ctrl+Shft+S] will set the path according to the .ini setting "saveFolder", if defined. IMHO the expected behaviour should by like in classic XnView which sets the path to the folder of the image regardless of a defined "saveFolder" setting. There the "saveFolder" setting is only used for the commands "Copy to folder" [Ctrl+C] and "Move to folder" [Ctrl+M].
Alternatively the two different behaviours of the "Save as" routine could be made selectable via an user setting?

Hi deus-ex
Is For 'Save as', use original pathname (Tools » Settings... » General » File operations) activated?

Re: [v0.79]: "Save as..." behaviour
No, it wasn't, because I did not know there was a related setting available. Thanks to your hint though I have activated it, now XnView MP behaves like classic XnView.
Now I can switch from classic XnView to XnView MP permanently, which I find to offer many improvements over the classic version. Hopefully my other suggestions regarding keyboard shortcuts for fast image scrolling and rectangle resizing/movement will find your consideration, too. Nevertheless, in its current state XnView MP is already a great & powerful product, which I find very satisfying to use.
Thank you very much for your support!

I'm not involved in the development of Pierre's software! He does all the coding on his owndeus-ex wrote:Hopefully my other suggestions regarding keyboard shortcuts for fast image scrolling and rectangle resizing/movement will find your consideration, too.

Dear XnTriq,
I know, I know.
The "you" was meant kind of as a general "you", as far as I know Pierre is working on XnView pretty much on his own. Though I consider you as a kind of a XnView spokesman who is in close communication with the "architect", i.e. like forwarding just the filtered, essential pieces of information between the user base and him. I hope I got that right?

I'm more like the resident factotum than a spokesperson.deus-ex wrote:Though I consider you as a kind of a XnView spokesman who is in close communication with the "architect", i.e. like forwarding just the filtered, essential pieces of information between the user base and him. The maestro himself listens very closely to the users — without me or anybody else interfering, …
