Since today, the application crashes round about 2 seconds after the start. While renaming 200 pictures at the same time, suddenly the application showed an error screen and was terminated. The directory contained several already renamed files and some having a prefix tmp-xnview...
After that, each time the application is started, the last picture is shown for a couple of seconds and then a message box shows up, saying "something went wrong ...searching for a solution' and then another window tells me that I'll get a message, once a solution is there. The only option is to close the message box and the application disappears.
- I've found that the image.db was >6GB, so I've deleted this file manually. Didn't solve the problem.
- tried to uninstall the application using the uninstaller from the xnviewmp folder and reinstalled the app. Did not solve the problem and the deinstallation was not complete, because the last displayed picture was shown again, although the program was started from the start menu. Additionally my changed key configuration was still in place.
- tried to also uninstall xnview (without mp) -> no change
- tried to use the windows 10 uninstaller and reinstalled again -> app was not cleanly uninstalled as well, because behavior was the same like it has been after executing unins000.exe.
I cannot find any further information, so there is no log/dmp/err file. The older version xnview (without mp) works good. I'm using xnviewmp 0.81 on a Win10 Laptop.
Is there anything I can do to get to the cause of these crashes?
Thanks in advance,
Doxxer

Re: 0.81 crashes after 2 seconds
Hi Doxxer, please search your local partition for a file named xnview.ini, open it in Notepad, delete the following entries, …
… save the file, and start XnViewMP again.
Code: Select all
[Start]
customPath=
session=
RecentFiles=
History=
PathBrowser=
[Convert]
History=
