Re: 0.83: symbolic directory link
Symbolic directory links do work for me (when clicking on them XnView displays the linked directory in the folder tree and the contents in the file list.karnak wrote:Symbolic directory links do not work.
But: For symbolic directories the thumbnail doesn't display thumbnail of the images that reside in that folder.
Is this the bug that you mean, karnak?
To reproduce:
1. In Windows Explorer, create a short cut to a folder that contains images.
2. Start XnView and browse to the parent folder which contains the short cut.
Actual behaviour (bug): In the file list the (short cut) folder is displayed. There is a folder thumbnail but the thumbnail is without thumbnails of the images the folder contains.
Expected behaviour (correct): In the file list the (short cut) folder is displayed. The folder thumbnail is displayed with thumbnails of the images that the folder contains.

Symbolic directory links pointing to local folders seems to work.
example:
mklink /D "C:\destination" "C:\source"
Symbolic directory links pointing to network folders still don't work.
By saying that I mean that thumbnails don't get created inside such folders.
example:
mklink /D "C:\destination" "\\192.168.1.2\source"

O.k., thank you, I can also reproduce the problem. Issue 1222 is fixed in next version.
