XnView MP 32 Bit not posting ratings to XMP

Post by mombo »

Hello:

I have installed XnView on 2 Windows systems. My main system is a 64 bit system. I have no problems with this one. When I rate a raw photograph and assign a colour rating, then 'Update files from catalog' it generates an XMP file and the rating and colour label are correctly written to the XMP file. However, I also have a small 32 bit Windows machine which I use when traveling. I want to assign ratings and colour labels when traveling, so that when I get home I can load these files and xmp to my main computer, and then for the new folder of files I can "Update catalog from files", and the work I did previously will be reflected in the catalog on my main system. However, my problem is that when I rate and label files on my little 32 bit system, it shows the correct stars and colours on the thumbnail, but when I 'Update files from catalog' I get an xmp file generated, but the file shows <xmp:Rating>0</xmp:Rating> and <xmp:Label>none</xmp:Label>. Is there something not set up correctly in my settings, or is this a bug??

Thank You!

OK. I solved this. I was keeping the db file on a network share just to save space on my little machine, and I had not set up permissions correctly. Problem has now been corrected.
