how to stop xnview from viewing icons from .exe files?

This is quite annoying when browsing mixed folders, as it will always display a dialog to select which icon to display.

Can this feature be disabled? If not, it really should be an option (as in, skip files that are not image files)

I think this may be the option you are looking for:

Tools > Options > Browser > File list -- File list tab
