Major image library database

i wonder if this great program could be developed into a robust image library program.

it would be great if a library of 1,000-100,000s or much more images in digital format could EASILY be catalogized by this program.

the original scans are too big files to handle (view as a contact sheet, browse, etc.). so a thumbnail version of each image with relevant basic information would be stored that would represent what is in the library - this could be printed out, shared online, the thumbnail images could be inserted into various databases or other files, subsets (manualy or by search-selected) could be printed out or forwarded, etc.

this would be a great use for pro photographers, persons requiring an image bank of anytthing, universities, libraries, NGOs, stock photo agencies, etc....
