So, XnView's Options->File Associations doesn't work on Win 10 1809?

Post by Ghred »

Hi, newbie here. I tried to use the File Association settings in XnView v2.47 (paid), but everything is grayed out. I saw this post: Re: Win 10 file associations stating that if the "Run as administrator" box is enabled in the desktop shortcut, those settings become active and settable.

But that doesn't seem to work for Win 10 1809, even though my username on this single-user desktop is an Administrator.

But before I investigate alternative approaches, I'd like to know that my understand is correct that the approach suggested in that post will never work for build 1809. Correct?

Thanks!
