XNView MP no longer showing .afphoto files

I hope this is the right place to ask this, but when I first installed XNView MP, after checking "show all graphics formats" in the Settings dialog, it was showing me Affinity .afphoto files with no problem-both thumbnails and preview images. I thought I had a good solution to the Adobe nightmare and uninstalled my Adobe softwares. Now XNView still sees the earlier files I created, but any new files are just showing the Affinity logo. Any help welcome, as I really don't want to have to put anything Adobe back on my system-and can't understand how uninstalling those programs would have caused a problem.
