How do I extract movie frames from an AVI file?

Post by louve »

I have tried many ways to extract movie frames from an AVI file, but I am at a loss as to how to do so.. am I missing something majorly obvious? :?

If it matters at all, I use Windows XP.

I appreciate any and all help.

In the browser, select the movie file, and Tools/Extract, don't work?

Nope.. have tried that, but when I have the movie file selected, and click on extract movie frames, nothing at all happens.

Do I need to have somewhere to paste the frames to- such as an art program??

I am at a total loss as how to do this.

Thanks for replying.

:D Hello !
• It works like a charm here according with the Pierre's information.

- You must choose an output directory for the pictures.
- They are extracted, then saved and named automatically as *.BMP, i.e. for one frame @ home :
settings.avi-11052005-0000.bmp

- However, let know that is pretty long… The "OK" button of the dialogue looks as "pressed" till the extraction be completed.

 Kind regards,
Claude
