Arrange images to display in particular order

Is there a way to rearrange images in XNView so that they display in a particular order? I think I have tried everything from drag-n-drop to renaming (tedious). I ultimately want the images to be on my website but to come up in a logical order.

Is there a way to rearrange images in XnView so that they display in a particular order? I think I have tried everything from drag-n-drop to renaming (tedious).

In the browser there is a setting View > Sort by > Custom but I don't immediately see how to use it, you might take a look though...

And Tools > Batch rename.. does allow the order of the selected images to be changed by drag and drop, or by using the up and down arrows, although only the preview of the selected image is shown...

I ultimately want the images to be on my website but to come up in a logical order.

But would the rearranged images display in the desired order on your website, unless renamed?

Anyone else have any suggestions?
