Thumb.db

Post by mrwul »

Question about the thumb.db

1. Can this file be viewed by some thumb db viewer?
(tried both: thumbs_viewer, thumbcache_viewer, but they came up with an error: "This file is not a thumbs database". The only 'valid' ones are the
thumbcache_nnnn.db in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer)

2. If the contents -can- be viewed, is it possible to relocate the .db to an encrypted password protected container?
(container will be opened before using XnView)

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay.
Thanks for the below.

I asked this in view of privacy.
As said, the thumbcache files, they can be viewed with the right tools.
I have deleted those.
The tools I mentioned, AFAIK they can not view the XnView thumbnail .db files.

But maybe other tools can??

That is the reason why I was asking. You confirmed they can not be viewed by other tools.

That is okay the.
Many thanks again.
