Option "After 'Save as' change filename"

Post by helmut »

I think by default, the option "After 'Save as' change filename' should be active (Tools > Options, category "General").

Currently, the filename is kept after 'Save as..' which I find irritating.

Logical, I agree.

• Hi !

- I agree. I tick that box always here.

- Aside, I wonder to know if the displayed image is really the “Saved as…” one.
- According to my daily use, it seems that the source-file you “Saved as…” is still displayed in «View», not the picture converted in the new format… ?

I agree, but far as I know, when this option is on and you save example a bmp to jpg the filename changes, but the actual file isn't updated (The same bmp remains and the jpg isn't loaded). This is good in some cases, but there should be a option to load the saved file.

Edit: Oh Clo seems to have pointed this out already.

I'll make a new requests about this.
XnView Tweak UI - Tool to customize your XnView beyond the regular XnView options.
UI-less Settings - Documentation of all the hidden settings in XnView.
XFAM - Tool to create and customize XnView file associations.
