I love XnViewMP more and more. You can do so much with it, that I'm still learning new thing every time.
But I have a question. I'm using XnView MP Windows, Version 0.94.1 64bits (Nov 21 2019).
When I import and sort files, I like to rename them to a new file name. I use the line:
{Modified Date [Ymd]}-VA-###
Where -VA- is just the abbreviation of the photographer.
Print screen:
When the files are imported and sorted in a directory of the date. The file have a new name. But the numbers are not correct. All numbers are up following over all directories:
Directory:2019_11_28
Filenames:
20191128-VA-001
20191128-VA-002
20191128-VA-003
20191128-VA-004
20191128-VA-005
Printscreen:
Directory: 2019_11_29
Filenames:
20191129-VA-006
20191129-VA-007
20191129-VA-008
And I like to have that every day/directory starts with a new count:
Directory: 2019_11_29
Filename
20191129-VA-001
20191129-VA-002
20191129-VA-003
Now I have to rename the files in Batch conversion. See attachment. This is lot of extra work and the possibilities to make mistakes.
Is it possible to Import and Rename the files in a correct way? Or do I do something wrong?
Thanks Frank

Re: Import and sort plus rename
Hi Pierre,
What is the status of a setting to re-start counter for each folder? Will this become an update, that will be released soon? Or should I asked for it on a different group. It is possible with a program like Advanced Renamer, but I like to do it straight away in XnView.
Thank you very much,
Frank

Re: Import and sort plus rename
This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.98.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
Pierre.
