png to webp

[xn-viewer]

i plan to convert my (local) pngs to webp (lossless)*.

is there anything speaking against the webp format as of december 2019 (possible limitations?)

the reason for doing so, is a reduction in filesize and faster loading times. compatibility is not an issue.

*i am open towards other recommendations as well. i would strongly prefer flif format, but it is not (yet) supported by xnviewmp and seems far away from an every-day-usage in general.
