Recursive option for quicksearch (quick search)
Quicksearch could really use an option to make it also search subdirectories/subfolders. I was trying to use it to search for tags, e.g. to find all baby pictures or all pictures of my niece, but since it only searches the current folder it's use is very limited. I see this was requested a couple years ago, but it seems this part of the request was lost in the discussion regarding the other issue the OP had.

Re: Recursive option for quicksearch (quick search)
Hello,
It is my understanding that QuickSearch is not a tool aimed to do elaborate searches but instead help to quickly find files among the already displayed list of files.
- For more complex searches, the search tool (Tool > Search (Ctrl+F)) is the one to be choosen. It allows nearly all conceivable search by adding as much conditions as necessary. The recurse option could be what you're looking for.
- Nevertheless, searching for tags probably don't need such a generic tool. The category filter is what you need (View > DataPane > category filter). It allows finding all image tagged with one or more tags, labels and notes. At its top, some options allow choosing the scope of the search (folder, recursive or all images)
I hope this will be useful.

Re: Recursive option for quicksearch (quick search)
Thanks! Very helpful. It took me a minute to find the category filter (I was looking in the toolbar, particularly the filter drop-down), but it looks like it will work even better, since it allows simply looking for and selecting the desired tag(s) instead of having to know what to search for, and makes it easy to select multiple ones.
That said, I still don't think it would be a bad idea to add the ability to use the quick search recursively. I realize that it's only meant for searching the current folder, but that doesn't mean it can't be made to optionally search recursively, which could be done through a simple drop-down arrow or settings icon next to the box, similar to how you select which search engine to use in a browser (and the setting should also be retained). Considering how much easier quick search is to use, this would make it much faster, not to mention far easier for more basic users, where the normal search functionality can be a bit confusing, both due to the many options and the naming of the "Browse..." button when one would typically expect a button to say "OK" or "Show Results" or something along those lines.
