0.96.2: No Thumbnail for files with a special symbol in filename

Post by Ezatoka »

XnView MP Windows
Version 0.96.2 64bits (May 5 2020)
Libformat version 7.40
Windows 10 Professional 64bit

As a replacement for a colon in a file name, I recently started to use a certain (I think) unicode character, which works fine for Windows in the filename.

But XnViewMP isn't able to create any thumbnail for such files (in my case PDF files).

One of the filenames is e.g. "Werewolf∶ The Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Edition.pdf"

Again, this is not a normal : but a ∶
You can find the character under e2 88 b6 at this list for example: https://www.utf8-chartable.de/unicode-u ... 28&names=-

Oh, you are right:

I noticed it just on the PDF files as I have several with the ∶ within the name.

So it seems images are read just fine, it's PDF files the parser don't like with the unicode character.
