'Show Info' panel has some odd behaviors

Memo: I hope this board is still active; and that I am not just talking to myself.

I have been doing some testing with XnView MP Windows Version 0.96.2 64bits (zipped version); and have come up some 'questions', 'problems' and 'bugs'. And I fear submitting so many is just going to piss-off Pierre.
P.S.: I hope not. My apologies if I do, Pierre.

XnView appears to have two separate fullscreen views:

• VIEW mode --> FULLSCREEN [VIEW and FULLSCREEN share the same 'Show Info' state]
• BROWSER --> FULLSCREEN [has its own private 'Show Info' state; and can use the optional 2nd monitor]

There are also two SETTINGS for 'Show Info'; and neither appears to be functioning correctly:

• SETTINGS>View>Info 'Always in fullscreen'
• SETTINGS>View>Fullscreen>Fullscreen 'Show Info'

If 'Always in fullscreen' is checked; then when you switch:

• FULLSCREEN-->VIEW mode: clears 'show info' state
• FULLSCREEN-->BROWSER: clears 'show info' state

If 'Show Info' checked; then when you switch:

• BROWSER<->VIEW mode: 'Show Info' state toggles ON|OFF on each successive use
  And if you then switch to FULLSCREEN; the 'Info' state is also toggled (since they share the 'Show Info' state variable)

I have not submitted this as a bug yet; to make sure it is not user error; and to see how people would like it to work.

For myself: I would like one 'show Info' state for VIEW mode; and one for FULLSCREEN mode. Both being persistent across restarts.
Which would make both SETTINGS redundant.

• FULLSCREEN-->VIEW mode: clears 'show info' state

It was like that in previous version, state is always cleared when returning from fullscreen

'Show info' state is global

For myself: I would like one 'show Info' state for VIEW mode; and one for FULLSCREEN mode. Both being persistent across restarts.

But if this settings is false, we can perhaps have 2 states for 'Show info' Normal/Fullscreen...

Yes... And if that's what you want it to do; I will not complain.
But its name totally wrong in that case.

'Show info' state is global

(with apologies, I disagree) If I:

• open a image in VIEW mode
• Turn on 'Show Info'
• Close image
• Open another image in VIEW mode; 'Show Info' is on
• and then switch to FULLSCREEN; 'Show Info' is on
  (so all as it should be)
• But if I select an image from BROWSE mode and switch directly to FULLSCREEN; then 'Show Info' is still OFF

And if you reverse of this; the same inconsistency is seen.
BROWSE>VIEW>FULLSCREEN must be using a different variable than
BROWSE>FULLSCREEN
