Hide Numerous Folders in Picture Folder

Post by OldPilot »

Can we not have file folders displayed in the normal view window? I have over 50 folders in my picture folder. I would like to get to may individual images in the picture folder quickly, rather than having to scroll down through the several folders before I get to the images.

VIEW / Show files in subfolder. Note the little icon next to it as it is also on the default toolbar
That will show every file in that folder and all the folders beneath
It is quite handy

... you can move your photos into a new folder , so there will be no other folders there

I suppose I could. I have been in a six+ month project digitizing old photos. I was using Breezebrowser which only shows image thumbnails in the viewing window with the tree view off to the left. Workflow becomes a strong habit after working over 2000 images. I just wanted to make Xnview conform to my old habit, i.e, open Picture folder and only the thumbnails of the images are displayed; and use the tree view/folder pane on the left to navigate. Thanks for comments, I guess the answer is we cannot change Xnview.

Go into the settings and then Browser / file list / custom filter and start playing around. Uncheck folders and see if you get what you want
