Videos stuttering with XnView MP but work fine with Classic [Solved]

Post by CreativeWorld »

Hello, I just installed xnview mp and classic both. Playing videos with the internal renderer, MP stutters very badly, but classic works perfectly fine. Can you please fix this issue?

I just noticed that Classic uses LAV video decoder that came installed with MPC-HC.
Is there a way I can make XnView MP use LAV instead of whatever it is using right now?

XnView MP use by default FFMPEG engine, but you can use installed codec by editing useInternalVideoPlayer in xnview.ini

Though heavily and mostly luckily using XnviewMP I have experienced that video playback stuttering if using the internal video player. It even became worse recently when upgrading my laptop from an older Intel i7 to a new AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX (unexpectedly).

Therefore I've got the same question, yet might have not yet fully understood the previous answer so far:
How can I edit the xnview.ini properly, NOT to disable the internal video player, BUT to point to another codec instead of the FFMPEG engine?

Thanks in advance!
