XNViewMp 0.96.4 appimage on Manjaro.
My system has 12Gb of RAM. I have about 51,000 images of a separate hard drive. I'm running out of RAM and XN starts swapping which makes it extremely slow.
What can I do to improve the memory management and reduce the XnviewMp footprint? Or is it too many photos?
Thanks

Re: Memory mamangement
No, I have 342 sub-directories hanging from /photos/
But...I have found that this is related to the building of the thumbnails. I need to go though each directory, by hand, to build the thumbnails and when the memory, which I monitor, goes to almost half, I close XN, then go back and do the next directories. It took me over 1 hour but now it stays at around 2Gb of mem.
Thanks

I have a lot of images too (but not original photographies, so quite small) and do not meet the problem. But why do you need to create all thumbnails immediately ?
Well, my question does not gives a good answer. It seems to me it’s normal that it takes a lot of time to create thumbnails if you have heavy images. Maybe you should reduce the quality of the thumbnails in settings.
