Ghostscript "file can't be loaded"

Post by Buttertea »

XnView MP: Version 0.96.5 64bits (Aug 17 2020)
OS: Windows 10 64bit

PDFs can't be loaded with the newer versions of Ghostscript that I tried: gs9531w64 and gs9533w64.

Effect: Pop up with "File can't be loaded, install Ghostscript"

To reproduce:
1. Install GhostScript 9.53.1 or 9.53.3
2. Try to open a PDF

Actual behaviour (bug): it doesn't open the PDF (and probably not the other formats that Ghostscript does either, but I haven't tried those)

Expected behaviour: open the PDF

Note: this does work with Ghostscript 9.50. Uninstall the newer version and install the older version works a treat. But go back to the newer versions and it won't work again. Tried it also on my laptop, same behaviour.
