Show thumbnails of PDFs
I know XnView doesn't open PDFs, but it would still be really useful if it was possible to show a thumbnail of page 1 of each PDF in the browser!

you need to install ghostscript to be able to show/load PDF files

Re: Show thumbnails of PDFs
Hello,
I've installed Ghostscript both 32/64 bits (latest version: Ghostscript 9.53.3 for Windows) and installed the latest Xnview MP 0.97.1 64bits.
I cannot preview and cannot open PDF within XnView MP.
Any advice? Thank you!

Oh, I had no idea it was possible to see thumbnails of PDFs! That's great!
But I'm in the same position as the other guy here. I've installed Ghostscript (64bit) and can't see PDF thumbnails in Xnview. What do I need to do?

Which user? I've installed 9.53.3 x64bits, and no problem here. No preview if you click on a pdf file?
Pierre.

Yes, I've installed GhostScript 9.53.3 x64bits, but XnView still looks like this:
Do you have to do anything with GhostScript? I only installed it, I haven't changed any settings.

Re: Show thumbnails of PDFs
In Tools > Settings > File list -- Custom filter you have PDF selected?
I'm not sure whether that is a default setting, I would have thought that it would be.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Show thumbnails of PDFs
So it doesn't explain why you have no PDF thumbnails...
Are you able to view PDF images if you double-click on a thumbnail? If not, looks like a Ghostscript version compatibility issue.
Note regarding a comment above: There is no reason why you can't have both GS 64-bit (for 64-bit software) and GS 32-bit (for 32-bit software) installed at the same time.

No, I can't view or preview PDFs in any way in XnView.
I will get in touch with Ghostscript and see if they can help. Their documentation is way too long and complicated to read, so I'll ask them!

Before doing that, could you ensure that in the viewer, File > Format settings... -- Read tab the option Ignore read errors is enabled in case the PDFs you are testing are possibly malformed, even if they open in other applications, then if necessary test again preferably with multiple PDFs.

Hmmm. I can't find that option. There is no "Format settings" in the File menu.
I can find:
Tools > Settings > Formats > Read tab > PS/PDF
But the only options there are Resolution, Page size, and "Use CIE color"?
