If XnViewMP is started browsing directories it might happen it sits there doing nothing. No menu, no button highlighting, just nothing. CPU cycles used are below 0,1% if at all. The only thing you can do wait up to half an hour, or kill it. Starting XnViewMP a second time may lead to the very same problem: again just siting there, doing nothing. Not even burning CPU cycles. Looking at IO there's nothing notable. XnViewMP is not waiting on any IO process to deliver data or waiting or a drive to be (auto)mounted.
At least starting it a third time it works as expected. Any idea what is going on there? Some maintenance of databases at startup? Looking on drives to find thumbnails for pictures?
XnViewMP might hang for hours starting
