Best way for rotation - rotate lossless or EXIF only?

For me only to change EXIF seems as the most easiest and surely real lossless method for rotation. (hoffmann lossless algorithm does loose very few pixels). However, it seems that is not the standard suggested? What to choose when and why?
J'ai l'impression que changer juste l'info EXIF est plus simple que tourner l'image, ou on perd quand même (très peu) des pixels . Quelle méthode à choisir, quand et pour qoi ?

Some software don't use EXIF field so using rotate is better in this case
