Save Ratings to sidecar file without modifying JPG

Hello,

Is is possible to save images ratings to xmp sidecar files only and don't modify original JPG files?
Would it be possible to add that option?
Here are my settings. With these setting the xmp file is created and the JPG file is also modified.

I don't want to modify original files because I am creating MD5 and PAR2 checksums/recovery records for images and then doing backup to cloud.

right, jpeg file should not be updated if you use sidecar

Hello Pierre,
I just installed the latest version 0.98.1 and the problem is still present.
Once I rate an image, the sidecard file xmp is created, but also the original jpg file is modified.

Could you please take a look or the fix will be included in next version?

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.99.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

The problem with sidecar xmp files is resolved.
The original JPG files are no longer being modified.
