Dark Images in XnViewMP

Post by grcolts »

Ok, I downloaded XnViewMP for Mac and in general find it to be very fast and stable so far. One bug? or problem is that when I import jpegs from darktable most come out fine but others come out really dark. Anyone else experience this problem? I can copy a dark image to another folder or desktop and the image is fine. Perplexed? Anyone know what is going on with that scenario?

Thanks

The lighter image is what it is supposed to look like, the darker image is how it appears in XnViewMP.

I think Pierre may need the original image, best to put both normal and dark JPEGs in a ZIP and attach it, if that is possible...

I downloaded both of the posted thumbnails when they were first posted, and couldn't see any difference in the properties, although I might have missed something.

I figured out what was happening as far as the dark images showing up in Xnview MP.
When exporting from darktable, the output I noticed the output was set to Linear Rec709 RGB; so, I changed the setting output to Srgb.
Everything worked as it should. Images processed in darktable now appear as they perfectly in Xnview MP.
Yippee!
